What would happen if the Yakuza made a movie? Fun + Profit. Shion Sono, a Japanese director, is best known for his 2001 film Suicide Club which is kind of a messed up horror film. This movie looks straight up awesome. If I understood what I just saw, I think the movie is about a Yakuza boss deciding to make a movie to impress one women. I think there is also money to be made but they didn't explicitly say that in the trailer. The film crew is not Yakuza, the death is real, and they cut in some special effects to make it more surreal and Japanese. It almost looks like a movie version of a Japanese game show. Watch this trailer. If you are still itching for violence and katana-play then watch Kill Bill. Or wait, this movie is probably already out, find a subbed version and enjoy.

Comet
Comet is a romantic comedy, but don't hold that against it. Justin Long and Emmy Rossum are a couple so perfect for each other but their relationship is overly-complicated and they can't be together for no reason. Classic romantic comedy, and when I say classic romantic comedy I mean it in a good way. I guess this movie is like the script of 500 Days of Summer combined with the sets of What Dreams May Come. I love surreal, aesthetically beautiful films. You should either watch this trailer, or go watch the movie The Fall, it's amazing.

Top Five
I haven't seen a Chris Rock movie since Pootie Tang. Have I missed anything? I'm not sure I don't watch many movies. But I watch a ton of trailers and Top Five looks like a genuinely funny comedy. From what I can tell the movie is about a comedian turned comedic-actor who wants to make the leap to serious film. Why? I don't know, maybe it was money related, I wasn't paying attention. He has a terribly beautiful, terribly vapid fiance, but don't worry because Rosario Dawson is in this picture and she will warm all of our hearts. Watch this trailer. You get to see Brian Regan in the first ten seconds; you get to see JB Smoove, Cedric the Entertainer, Tracy Morgan, and Kevin Hart being funny; Whoopi Goldberg is handing out advice; and etc.
